Owner of Turning Point Counselling Centre

Jodi holds a Masters in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, minoring in health and wellness and is the owner of TPC. Originally from Minnesota, she moved to Ontario 25 years ago. When she arrived, she had a dream of completing her Master’s degree and pursuing a career in psychotherapy. Many obstacles were in her way, including adjusting to a new country, debt, and a trauma history of her own. Jodi spent the next few years raising her family and focusing on healing thru yoga, meditation, counselling therapy, and self-reflection. Today she is a specialized trauma therapist with Certification in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Complex Trauma, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, and Mindfulness Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Jodi is living out her dream of supporting High-Performance Athletes and Students, First Responders, Sexual Victimization Survivors, Trauma Survivors, Couples, Teens, Young Adults, and Adults as they heal from their experiences. She firmly believes that we deserve the best life, we are doing our best with the information given, and we can heal when supported with unconditional positive regard and safety.

Your symptoms and your diagnosis are not who you are or what you have the potential to become. “Don’t mistake who you have to be to survive with who you are or what you are capable of becoming.”

As Psychotherapy research progresses, therapists have a better understanding of the brain, nervous system, and how they respond to trauma. The new information supports individuals redefining OCD, depression, anxiety, and BPD as symptoms rather than the source. Lastly, Jodi believes that the therapeutic relationship is the heart of her work. She prides herself on working collaboratively with her clients to set and reach their therapeutic goals.

Recently, Jodi completed her training in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy through Therapsil. Furthermore, she is completing a post-graduate certificate from Vancouver Island University in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy with plans to complete her MA Psychedelic Assisted therapy in 2024.

Breanne Cousins-McGuire

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Whether you are a child, teen, adult or parent who is looking for a safe, non judgemental space to share your thoughts, fears and emotions, you have found the right therapist and her dog. It is my passion to hold space for my clients as they work through the chaos of life and move into their authentic selves. As a former educator in the school system, my focus is on supporting children, youth and their parents, however I support all individuals from all walks of life.

With a specialization in attachment and trauma, I often view people’s struggles through this lens. I believe that we are all innately built with the capacity to not only survive, but to thrive. My goal is to not only help you identify your unhealthy survival patterns but to transform them into your strengths so that you can heal from the past and create the future that you deserve. I use a client tailored approach that may include EMDR, Attachment focused therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal family Systems in conjunction with skill building

As a child and adolescent therapist I focus on helping kids navigate their thoughts, emotions and behaviours through art, sand tray and play therapy. I also use EMDR and IFS to treat pediatric PTSD, Eating Disorders, Anxiety, Depression and Suicidal Ideation/attempts. Children and adolescents have an innate wisdom to survive, while also creating problematic coping mechanisms that interfere in their ability to function in daily life. Children internalize their world in such a way that they blame themselves and alter their own ways of being to keep those around them happy (even when it doesn’t seem like it). My focus on working with children is to enhance their confidence and self identity through a variety of strategies that are tailored specifically to that child. I work closely with parents and caregivers to help them support their children in meaningful ways. Ultimately, whether a child is struggling with anxiety, suicidal thoughts, trauma, neurodivergence or low self esteem the best healing comes through relationships and trust.

Most of my clients enjoy having my dog, Oscar there to assist in the therapeutic process. Whether you just want to snuggle or teach him tricks, he is always there to participate. Oscar is a therapy dog trained in identifying and supporting individuals with trauma and dissociation. He can’t wait to meet new clients and help you on your healing journey.

Tera-Sundri Biddle (she/her)

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours are rooted in wise survival strategy. There’s beauty and intelligence in even the most misunderstood aspects of yourself. I endeavour to hold a space conducive to the befriending and integration of such parts.

I attend to clients from a space of non-judgement, as well as the belief that we’re all worthy of connecting to our inherent, authentic vitality and wisdom. Having experienced profound loss, addictions, and mental health challenges myself, I appreciate the courage and grit it takes to come to this work. Your process, unique to you, is one I both honour and trust.

I am a Master of Counselling graduate of City University. I’m grateful for the supervision and support here at Turning Point.

I am both a certified Compassionate Inquiry and yoga practitioner. I have special interests in Internal Family Systems/parts work, polyvagal theory, attachment theory, somatic experiencing, and grief work. Finally, as a late diagnosed neurodivergent individual, I am especially passionate about learning how I can better serve in culturally competent, neuro-inclusive ways.

“What I know about living
is that the pain
is never just ours.

Every time I hurt,
I know the wound
is an echo,

so I keep listening
for the moment the grief
becomes a window,

when I can see
what I couldn’t see before.”

Welcome to a safe and nonjudgmental space for your journey of healing. At times, making the choice to begin therapy may be daunting, however, we walk this journey together. As a therapist who is empathetic, kind, and down to earth, this journey is available for all ages and begins by reaching out for Pauline.

The therapeutic relationship is an important aspect to develop and begins in our first interaction. The therapeutic relationship will strengthen as we navigate your present concerns whether it is developmental or behavioural. I enjoy working with an extensive range of clients and organize my practice around providing Client-Centred Therapy grounded in empirically-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Additionally, I have ten-plus years of experience in the education system working with both educators and students.

My work connects me with all ages, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds as we navigate life experiences and begin to build on your strengths and skills. I believe in incorporating mindfulness-based practices in therapy to resolve struggles using a trauma-focused approach when working with my clients. This approach is incorporated when working with ADHD, Autism and behavioural-related disorders.
