Jodi holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Health and Wellness. Originally from Minnesota, Jodi moved to Ontario 25 years ago, bringing with her a dream of pursuing a career in psychotherapy. Despite significant challenges, including adjusting to a new country, financial hardships, and healing from her own trauma history, Jodi persevered. Through years of dedication to personal growth, including yoga, meditation, therapy, self-reflection, and education she has become a specialized trauma therapist and clinical supervisor committed to helping others heal and thrive.
In 2020, Jodi and Frankie co-founded Turning Point Counselling Centre (TPC) with a mission to create a safe and welcoming space where clients can access holistic therapeutic modalities to support their overall healing. TPC is dedicated to addressing the connection between the brain, body, and spirit in the healing process. Today, TPC employs over 11 therapists and continues to grow, offering evidence-based modalities such as Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Psychology, and more.
Jodi’s own healing journey has profoundly shaped her belief that effective therapy must go beyond traditional talk therapies, such as CBT, to address healing on the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. This perspective informs her approach as she helps clients navigate the effects of trauma, rebuild resilience, and rediscover their sense of self.
Certified in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Complex Trauma, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Psychedelic Assisted Therapy, Jodi specializes in working with high-performance athletes, students, first responders, survivors of sexual victimization and trauma, couples, teens, young adults, and adults. Her trauma-informed care emphasizes creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to heal and thrive.
Jodi views symptoms such as OCD, depression, anxiety, and BPD as responses to life’s challenges rather than defining characteristics. Her work is grounded in the latest research on the brain and nervous system, helping clients reframe their experiences and achieve meaningful change.
The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of Jodi’s work. She prides herself on fostering a compassionate, collaborative process to help clients set and achieve their goals. Her motto, “Don’t mistake who you have to be to survive with who you are or what you are capable of becoming,” reflects her unwavering belief in her clients’ resilience and potential.
Jodi is also expanding her expertise in innovative modalities. She has completed training in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy through Therapsil and Numinus and has completed a postgraduate degree in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy at Vancouver Island University, with plans to complete her MA in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy and Consciousness Studies at the University of Ottawa in 2026.
Through her compassionate care, commitment to holistic healing, and dedication to ongoing growth, Jodi continues to inspire her clients and team to explore new possibilities for healing and transformation.
